Bike blotter: Dangling modifiers on the wheel!

People do funny things in Alaska, but it's not like other people don't notice.

People don't normally fill a chainsaw by hauling it in a molded case to a gas station on a bike, he thought. They use a gas can. And there was something familiar about the details.

Anchorage police were looking for a man seen pedaling away Thursday night from a damaged utility pole farther east on 36th. It had been sliced about halfway through, close to the ground. Utility workers found two other similarly damaged poles Friday.

See, they're starting to confuse the environmentalist crazies with the regular crazies with the bicycle crazies.

But a gasoline station on a bike? How cool and oxymoronic would that be?
