Bamboo You

I have to say, I thought the whole Bamboo bike thing was an absurd joke -- kind of like Parlee taken one step further: Let's make a ridiculous boutique bike out of a material that's even more ridiculous than carbon.

But this article has completely changed my mind. From the point of view of sustainability, bamboo may provide a green, renewable alternative to steel, aluminum, and titanium. It may also cause people like Andrew Leonard to just shut up.

But "great ride characteristics"? I'll remain skeptical until I can swing a leg over one of these suckers, and allow my highly discerning ass to be the judge of that.
