Biking the South Pacific

What's the most remote place on the planet? And can you ride a bike there?

The answer is Easter Island. And yes, you can ride a bike there.

Being just sixty-five square miles of exposed volcanic rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, one wonders why the island isn't exclusively for bikes. Cars, motorcycles, trucks and all their imported fuel -- they just seem hurtful.

But then Easter Island has a long tradition of representing the self-destructive habits of
humans from clear cutting to cannibalism.

The lede-out, stage 20 : Everything you need to know about the TDF today

Contador, inspired in yellow, survives the time trial. Can he do it for one more day? Does he need to?

Well, in spite of everything, it was a very exciting conclusion to this year's TDF. Or was it? Given the fact that the three podiums (podia?) are separated by less than a minute, and given that there are time bonuses for sprints along the way in tomorrows final stage... well? The question is whether the peloton really believes that the stage is ceremonial, and whether it is fair game to win the yellow jersey on the Champs Elysees.

I don't know my TDF history well enough to speculate, but perhaps you do? Drop a line... (VeloNews has some interesting speculation here)

Hell hath no fury like a Vino fan scorned

You thought you were disgusted with Ali V. Over here you can see how real disgust is expressed. We feel a bit sad for the webmaster of Vino's "first fanpage."

Welcome to the first fanpage of Alexander Vinokourov.
On this website you can find everything you want to know about this fabilous professional cyclist. Use the buttons to continue and don't forget to have fun!!

Fabilous? Fablist? Fatalist? Fantacist? Hmm, we'll have to work on that one a bit.

But we do think that's a great motto for life: Use the buttons and don't forget to have fun.
