"I'm not saying everyone has to ride a bike, but it's important to provide people with the infrastructure to make that choice."
-- Premier Gordon Campbell of British Columbia, Canada, on announcing the province's "Bike BC" initiative
Bike BC is a three year, $31 million program. It will add and improve biking infrastructure to encourage bicycling as a viable option to being in a moving cage.
Bike BC is the Province’s new three-year, $31-million program for cycling infrastructure. Through Bike BC, the Province will partner with communities to fund a variety of cycling projects, including the creation of safe and high-quality cycling corridors, improvements to existing cycling infrastructure and other equipment that makes cycling a safer and more convenient option for travelers.
Wouldn’t it be nice if every transportation project funded in part or in whole by our federal government were required to provide bicycling infrastructure? Contact your U.S. congressional delegation to voice your opinion.
