Awesome advertising game appears to be bike-themed

Here's a new trailer for the PS2 game Mountain Bike Adrenaline.

More than one viewer has commented that this looks like "a cheap knockoff" of Downhill Domination. Personally, I have no dog in this fight, because if I'm going to sit on my butt doing nothing, I'll do it in the saddle out on the trail, not in front of my TV. Just saying.

But I was struck by the top-line marketing message the makers of this game want you to remember: "Experience mountain bike stunt-racing at its finest with every professional mountain bike brand around."

Huh? Do kids really care about the brands of their fake bikes and fake bike componentry? Seriously? It's not just reassuring, but actually preferable to have major corporations paying for product placement in their games?

Gawd, I'm truly getting old and clueless. And I don't seem to mind.

maybe the game company is actually paying Trek and Specialized. reverse product placement, to "buy credibility."
