An "open-source" MTB frame? Or the ultimate clown bike?

Here's the ultimate fetish for all you dirtbag weight weenies: A "kevlar" bike frame from Delta 7 Sports. (Actually, it appears to be an open weave of carbon fiber, minus the tube molds. All this talk about "kevlar" and "shrapnel" makes us fear our sport is being overtaken by a bunch of aggros.)

In this other video, apparently from Interbike, a flack from Arantix avers that this open-node frame actually limits the deleterious effect of any nicks scratches or dents picked up on the trail: "Damage is isolated by this latticework, instead of propagated by a continuous skin cylinder."

Uh, sort of like the truss beams on that 35W bridge?

racers sound like idiots when they try to plug the "superior" qualities of bike frames. They could've been riding anything, and as long as it cost more than 3 G's they would've said the same thing.

"It's pedigree", yeah sure, whatever dude
