Good On Ya Mate

In my ongoing efforts to celebrate people who do my job much better than I do, allow me to introduce you to Carlton Reid, the British bike journalist who is way off the front. You can see him just cresting the second metaphorical hill up there. Carlton founded On Your Bike magazine, sold it for tall dollars (er, pounds) to Emap, then founded BikeBiz.com, the UK's version of Bicycle Retailer and Industry News. (By the way, the UK's version of any American magazine is invariably ten times better. Seriously. Have you noticed that most of the really dirty, dog-eared bike mags at the shop are British? Shronky bollocks!)

But what I really wanted to direct your attention to was QuickRelease.TV, Carlton's trickle-valve blog/vlog with the clever name that's a great carrier wave for what's going in bike culture across the pond.

Apropos of yesterday's nod to Fritz and his recommendations for cycling Christmas cards, Carlton recently pointed readers to the Bodelian Library, where he found that lovely vintage Christmas card top-of-post.
