Why does the cricket chirp?

We neglected to mention that Paolo "the Cricket" Bettini has once again won the UCI world championship road race. You may recall we've sorta dissed him in the past for being the guy who carries around his "Employee of the Month" plaque for years after the fact. This year, though, he refused to sign an anti-doping pledge in advance of the race, and it looks like he may be suffering from a case of Instant Karma: though he repeated as World Champion, his bike -- along with the rest of the team's machines -- were all stolen yesterday.
