Five Minute Machine: Northfield CX
Trying to get ahead with things here, I pushed the Northfield CX video through. (Perhaps it helped that I re-separated my shoulder yesterday on the dirt bike, and couldn't race today.)

okay, what is the deal with skinsuits and CX?? Okay on the track or TT is one thing, but they just look heinous in the dirt.
Awesome point, I've been meaning to get to that. Skinsuits are so totally gay it hurts. I am convinced that they are designed to subject their wearers to that one last great indignity: Having to get completely naked before taking that pre-race dump.

The real reason, which holds about as much weight as shaving your legs, is that with dismounts, carrying the bike, and remounts a skinsuits makes it less likely that one would snag their clothing during one of those acts. Such a mishap would cause one to lose precious seconds which could be better spent doing a nice endo, face plant, rolling a tubular, pinch flatting, racking oneself while remounting, fixing a dropped chain, and other more pleasure filled cyclocross acts.
