Seen in the newspapers over lunch...

We were wondering who at the San Francisco Chronicle had finally discovered this funky thing called "the internet" and figured out that it has more or less decimated the ranks of bike messengers in that city and every other city since, oh, about 1997. (Maybe that's why the messengers we know seem to hate email... and, uh, Pinch Flat News... so much.)

But nevermind the interwebs. We blame the messengers themselves. Frankly, they are a bunch of shrinking violets. They are unassertive, they avoid risk, and they dislike interacting with people with whom they are unacquainted.

We love them, those charming and introverted bike messengers. But who will stand up for them?!
