How to pack a handlebar bag!

Darren Alff, the professional bike tour guy, has provided a helpful little program on how to pack your touring bags, which might have been helpful last Friday, the night before Hurl's Slick 50.

Not sure how you get to be a professional bike tour guy, but it must be tiring, since Darren has to lay down during the intro.

Don't forget: Something for self-defense!

There's good info in there, but I wish he would forego the at-length description of each object. I'm quite aware of what a wallet, a knife and the various and sundry items do, thank you very much.

Man, that's a tedious video. I really wanted to see the knife bit but my DSL was slow and I couldn't take it. Besides, why not just carry a gun? Conceal, Carry & Ride, that's what I say, though a careful perusal of The Complete Guide to Public Safety Cycling Second Edition suggests that firing while riding is not recommended even by trained law-enforcement professionals. The firing positions they do practice are a hoot, though! We need to start a Bikeathlon sport for the Olympics, get these skills mainstreamed.

Hey Pinchez,
why would you pack a bag for the Slick 50, IF YOU DIDN'T BOTHER SHOWING UP?!?!?
