Free money the Gummint wants to give you!

Bet you didn't realize: There are four communities in the USA which have been hand-picked by the US Secretary of Transportation to receive $25 million to construct "a network of non-motorized transportation infrastructure facilities, including sidewalks, bicycle lanes, and pedestrian and bicycle trails, that connect directly with transit stations, schools, residences, businesses, recreation areas, and other community activity centers."

The four communities are Sheboygan, Wisconsin; Colombia, Missouri; Marin County California, and Minneapolis-St. Paul. And the program started last year.

What's the Transportation Secretary done for your community lately? (Personally, I'm shocked and chagrined that we haven't heard bupkiss about this here in Cycle City. Granted, we're well on our way with bike trails and paths, but still. How much better will it be when the Powers start spending some of this dough?)
