Delaware: We must preserve the brains of children!

At the risk of starting that whole helmet shimmy shimmy -- personal freedom versus public responsibility versus the unholy specter of unpaid hospital bills for brain-injury victims blah blah blah-- I wish merely to point out that Delaware is close to signing a bill into law that would require children to wear helmets up to the age of 18.

After that age, of course, the human brain begins to shrink, helmet sizes decrease, and conversation devolves into arguments about taxation, the role of government, and the merits of the 29-inch wheel. By the time we reach our 40s, a good knock on the head is what some of us desperately need.
