Great Idea, Goofy Execution

Here's a pretty nifty idea: A solar-powered helmet. But if this operates anything like those trickle-charge lawn lights, they'll work really great for five or ten minutes after the sun sets, then they'll just serve to remind you how dark it is, and how little you should be on the road without a real lighting system.

If you think about it objectively, there is simply no way to make a bike helmet look cool. That of course doesn't mean we should apply our ingenuity to making them as ugly as possible.

Also this: Is a solar-powered helmet sort of the opposite of a tinfoil hat?
