The bike-friendly city for dummies

You don't have to speak Danish to learn how to design a bike-centric city like Copenhagen. This handy -- though, by necessity, slightly wonkish -- pamphlet will tell you how, and it's written by an American graduate student. (True, Academic is a language that's very nearly as difficult to master as Danish.)

First, of course, you'll need to find a large unoccupied space with fresh water and access to shipping routes and energy resources that will be attractive to, say, half a million people to start with.

Conversely, you could just buy a used Sugar-5 and move to a shack in Lo-Lo Pass and shoot for something more along the lines of a bike-friendly campsite.

"In Copenhagen, it is typical to park bicycles outside of your home instead of a car."

Well, yeah... why would a person park their bike outside of a car?
