Triathletes: Not the brightest bulbs on the block?

Coca-Cola is in a bit of hot water due to a TV advertisement featuring a triathlete fueled by Powerade. The British board that reviews all advertising deemed this spot "hazardous" because it shows cyclist Will Cullen riding in twilight conditions with no lights and no reflectors.

Actually, considering the relatively outrageous standards of British television around nudity and violence -- not to mention all those previous "faux reality" Powerade commercials of a surfer riding a tsunami, a runner jumping the gap in a drawbridge, and a kayaker playing pattycake with a whale -- this strikes me as tilting at windmills.

This ad should be scrutinized for being utterly boring, not for being hazardous. If I saw this ad on the tele, I'd immediately hurl the remote control at the screen. Wouldn't you?
