One league under the sea

Two things that have driven some mirth around here: Stationary bikes (hate 'em) and river jumpers (love 'em.)

But this guy combines those two disciplines (kinda) by living 30 feet underwater and pedaling to generate electricity to drive his "bio-coils" -- algae that eat carbon dioxide and emit oxygen. He's living entirely off the grid (kinda) in a shipping container submerged in a lake Down Under.

His name is Lloyd Godson, he's an Australian hobbyist, he's featured in this month's Popular Science magazine, and his project is called "BioSUB." He even has a theme song!
