Now THAT'S a wheel of cheese! The Jeantex TransAlp

July 14th is the start date for this eight day, 375 mile race. Included are 65,000 feet of climbing and daily diets consisting of “interesting regional cheeses.”

The Jeantex TransAlp is an annual mountain bike race purported to be the world’s toughest. The race boasts $27,000 in prize money attracting top bikers from a wide geographic area.

LONDON, England (CNN) -- In a small town in Germany this month, 1,100 people dressed with complete disregard for fashion will climb aboard a fleet of finely tuned bicycles and begin riding south.

Make sure to put this race on your “to do” list of races for 2008.
