Coming clean

Velo News and AFP are reporting that Ivan Basso has admitted his involvement in the whole Operacion Puerto dealio.

Note to self, if self were a pro cyclist: This sort of thing sure makes those loud, vehement protests of innocence look ridiculous, in hindsight.

To be fair, Basso's wording has been very careful. He is "clarifying" what his role might have been in the scandal that won't go away. I expect his role was fairly minor, and went something like this: I sent the doctor my blood and asked him to make it work better, so I can go faster and win more bike races. He said OK, and sent me the bill.
